BC Tories counting female noses

As the BC Conservative Party continues to put candidates in place there seems to be a fairly obvious gender imbalance.

Leader John Cummins admits they are short on female candidates, “We are certainly on the look out for them; we are encouraging the ladies to run and we certainly would like to have that input at this stage. We have got one that is just about through the nomination process, but not quite, but that’s it. So we are, it’s a shortcoming, we recognize it and we are doing the best we can to overcome that.”

With about 30 candidates in place now, Cummins says another 30 or so are in the nomination process. He is also hinting the party will unveil this week an “interesting” candidate to run against the Premier in Vancouver-Point Grey.
