It’s called a “day of action” as the BC Teachers’ Federation urges its members to work only from bell to bell today but it will differ from school to school. At Coquitlam’s Glen Elementary, teachers gathered in the parking lot and waited for the first bell to ring. But outside East Vancouver’s Florence Nightingale School, teachers went directly into their classrooms. Some dressed all in black, today’s demonstration is part of a union order against government plans to legislate an end to the contract dispute. At noon, teachers will watch a video from union president Susan Lambert. Tuesday and Wednesday, a vote on whether to walk of the job.
