BREAKING: Murder suspect killed in gunfight with police

The search for a suspect in two murders and the attempted murder of a third person has ended.

The 26 year old suspect has died in hospital following a shoot-out with police.

Angus David Mitchell was pronounced dead at 1:23pm after he was flown by air ambulance to Vancouver General Hospital.

Ridge Meadows RCMP Superintendent Dave Walsh says the man was fatally shot when gunfire was exchanged with Mounties near 216th Street and 132nd Avenue.

“Shots were fired between the suspect and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team members. We are certainly pleased none of our officers are injured at this point in time.  I can tell you also that this matter will be investigated by the Vancouver Police Department.”

Police were tipped off to mitchell’s location by someone at a nearby equestrian farm.

Mitchell is accused of shooting his former landlord yesterday in Burnaby and he was a person of interest in the double homicide of a man and woman Sunday night at the Royal Oak sushi house.
