Bryan Adams to perform in Stanley Park

It took 20 years, but Bryan Adams finally has permission to perform at Vancouver’s Stanley Park.

The Canadian – who’s drawn large crowds to outdoor concerts around the world – has been added to Sarah McLachlan’s “Voices in the Park” festival.

Twenty years ago, Adams offered a free show in Vancouver’s jewel while on tour for his ‘Waking up the Neighbours’ album, but the park board of the day rejected the gift… citing concerns about the grounds being destroyed by overzealous fans.

Tickets for the September 15th concert won’t be free – they start at 85 dollars and top out at nearly 300 – but Adams and McLachlan will be joined by other performers including Jann Arden, Stevie Nicks and Hedley… as well as former US President Bill Clinton.

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Sarah McLachlan School of Music.
