Buckley leaving Pavco

He’s leaving because he wants to, not because he has to.

That’s what the chair of the BC Pavilion Corporation is saying about the resignation of Pavco president and CEO Warren Buckley.

“He wants to take a rest, spend more time with his family and ultimately, at some point, I guess he’ll decide if he wants to take on something else at a future date.”

David Podmore says Buckley came back to Canada from singapore to oversee the completion of the convention centre, and stayed to see the new roof built at BC Place.

“He saw making a commitment of about five years, so I really understand he’s tired and he’s done a fabulous job. I’m very disappointed to see him leaving, but I do wish him, of course, all of the very best.”

Buckley’s stepping down at the end of July.

Podmore says it could take a while to find a replacement.
