Cameco reduces stake in undeveloped property

VANCOUVER – Windarra Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:WRA) has agreed to buy a half-interest in the Little Deer Lake property from Cameco Corp. of Saskatoon (TSX:CCO), Canada’s largest uranium company.

The transaction will increase Windarra’s holding in the property to 70 per cent at a cost of $ 25,000.

Cameco will continue to own 15 per cent of the property and Areva Resources Canada Inc., a subsidiary of a French nuclear power group.

Windarra said it believes the property has “significant untested exploration potential” — although there has been considerable exploration of the area since 1979.

“The first step in Windarra’s renewed interest will be to compile the available historical exploration data for the property, in order to provide a basis for further evaluation,” the company said Wednesday.
