Celebrity Chef Anthony Sedlak dies

Vancouver’s restaurant community has been rocked by the sudden passing of celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak.

The 29-year old was found dead in his North Shore apartment on Friday evening.

The cause hasn’t been determined, but it is believed he had an undiagnosed medical condition.

Sedlak was best-known as the host of Food Network Canada’s The Main and as a judge on Family Cook Off.

He also wrote the national bestseller cookbook ‘The Main.’

Sedlak discovered his love of cooking at 13 and by 19 he’d already completed a culinary arts program and four-year apprenticeship with Vancouver Community College.

He then spent almost two years at La Trompette, a Michelin star restaurant in London, England.

A private funeral service will be held in Vancouver, but his family is asking for privacy.

Earlier this year, sedlak opened the American Cheesesteak Company restaurant in Vancouver and recently spent time in Toronto where he was helping with the launch of a new meal service for a chain of hotels.
