City workers have too much to do and they’re getting stressed out.
That’s what the head of Vancouver’s union for inside workers is telling council.
Council has started planning the city budget, and Cupe Local 15 president Paul Faoro is urging the politicians not to forget what he says is an increasing workload for his members.
“We’re getting more and more complaints from our members, your front line workers, saying that we can’t do anymore, we’re maxed out.”
Faoro claims it’s hurting the city — financially.
“I’m concerned that that’s driving up your sick leave costs, it’s hurting morale.”
The city’s inside workers have been without a contract for 10 months.
The union has yet to specify a demand for wage increases.
