Residents in the BC riding of Port Moody-Coquitlam are waking up to a new representative in Victoria.
Joe Trasolini has capitalized on his popularity as former Mayor of Port Moody and successfully made the jump to provincial politics, “Our victory tonight signals the start of a growing broad-base support for the NDP. Not only here in this riding, but Province-wide.”
Trasolini won with 54 percent of the vote, followed by Liberal Dennis Marsden with 30 percent, and Tory Christine Clarke at 15.
He says his focus now will be issues such as education, the environment and small business.
NDP officials suggest their win is a dress rehearsal for what’ll happen next year, during the Provincial election.
