It’s known as a quiet, family-friendly suburb.
But with three deadly shootings this year alone, some Port Moody parents say they fear for the safety of their children.
A rally has been planned for Monday evening at city hall.
One organizer says she’s too scared to give her name — blaming an increase in organized crime.
“I would love to see, and so would so many other parents… are just absolutely in fear right now… and we’d like to see somebody do something before a tragedy occurs and one of our kids, one of our soccer kids… one of our beautiful children is taken out in the process.”
The rally starts at 6:30 p.m.
Two of the three shootings were near busy public spaces — a Starbucks and a recreation centre.
