The BC Coroners service has solved a 25 year old mystery.
The coroner has identified a person whose foot bones washed ashore in Sasamat Lake in Port Moody last November as a man missing after a boating accident two and a half decades ago.
DNA confirms the bones belonged to Vancouver’s Stefan Zahorujko.
The 65 year old was out on the lake, fishing alone, when his boat overturned in early January of 1987.
