The Crown is calling for eight years in prison for a man found guilty in connection with a road rage crash that killed a 21 year old.
The Crown says a fit and proper sentence for Brent Parent would be eight years plus a driving prohibition not less than 15 years.
Parent was found guilty of several charges including criminal negligence causing death, all linked to the march 2008 road rage death of Silas O’Brien.
O’Brien died when he was run down by a pick-up truck as he and two friends stood by the side of their flipped-over vehicle that had been forced off the road.
The three men were on their way to the airport to fly off on vacation.
Victim impact statements have now been read out in the court.
His girlfriend submitted a letter saying “..I was in love with the fact Silas and me would bless our family with children and now I have to live alone with my thoughts”.
