The Crown will no longer seek a conviction of street racing against a 28-year-old man accused in the death of an elderly pedestrian.
Gurjit Dhillon is on trial in provincial court in Surrey, originally charged with dangerous driving causing death by street racing.
Back in 2009, he allegedly ran down 83-year-old Pritnam Benning in his black corvette while racing a yellow corvette.
Crown says it will now only seek a conviction on dangerous driving causing death.
The trial is adjourned until November 19.
