The Canadian Taxpayers Federation wants to bring public sector pay down to the levels that exist in the private sector.
BC director Jordan Bateman explains the campaign, which the CTF calls “Unfair Labour Day.”
“This year we’re launching what’s called a campaign for a compensation equity act. Essentially what it is is an act that would make it illegal to pay public servants more than they could make for the same job in the private sector and to better take into account the deferred compensation that comes through pension plans through the public sector.”
As part of the campaign, the CTF has released a video which compares service at private and government liquor stores, which concludes there is no difference except how much the clerks make.
