Fire destroys Stanley Park train station

No one was seriously hurt and damage was contained to one structure, but fire has destroyed Stanley Park’s miniature railway station.

Two men camping nearby alerted emergency crews shortly after midnight.

Peter Simon and Lyle Spry say firefighters arrived within ten minutes of the call.

“The guys came very fast. Seven or eight trucks came in, ambulance. One firefighter was hurt. He’s gone to hospital. Police are here. They quickly doused it. They had it under control I would say in ten-15 minutes.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
