Former BC Conservative candidate says party vetting members

A one-time BC Conservative candidate says he is not welcome back into the party because of his online criticisms.

Blogger Dean Skoreyko left the fledgling party two years ago – before John Cummins became leader.

Now Skoreyko wants to re-join, but has been told he cannot buy a party membership.

Skoreyko notes its common for parties to vet candidates, but vetting regular members is unusual.

“The issue i have is there are a few gate-keepers who want to dictate and keep their small fiefdom in order,” says Skoreyko.

He adds, “they’re not ready for prime time when they’re not able to look past their own deficiencies.”

Skoreyko says he is a card carrying federal Conservative, despite also criticizing that party in his blog and on social media.
