Gangster guilty of West End murder

A BC Supreme Court judge has found gangster Michael Newman guilty of first-degree murder.

Marc Rozen was shot and stabbed multiple times during a botched robbery at his West End apartment building back in 2004.

The 38-year-old had been trying through local newspapers to sell a valuable engagement ring, which was never recovered.

Newman, a member of the U-N gang, wasn’t arrested and charged until five years later.

The judge says d-n-a and footprint evidence were key in the trial.

Newman is set to be sentenced tomorrow.
