Got brains?

Don’t walk … shuffle and groan to the undead extravaganza of the year.

The 2011 Zombie Walk is set to invade the streets of Downtown Vancouver Saturday, and the hundreds of participants are hungry for a bloody good time.

Ruby Lin was once an unsuspecting victim but has since been infected with the zombie virus.

“I saw them walk by and thought, ‘What the hell is going on?’” the 20-year-old Simon Fraser University student recalls. “I was taken aback in shock. I knew I wanted to do it ever since.”

Lin is taking part in her first zombie march Saturday and can’t wait to join the undead, especially since her boyfriend (who is apparently terrified of zombies) isn’t in on the joke yet.

“He has no idea,” she laughed. “It’s a chance to step outside yourself and do something completely different for one day. And you get to scare the crap out of people.”

This year’s Zombie Walk starts at 4 p.m. outside the Vancouver Art Gallery.
