B.C.’s justice minister has announced a new province-wide Fugitive Return.
Shirley Bond explains it’s an extension of the Vancouver Police Department’s successful Con Air.
“People, fugitives, who have outstanding warrants in other Canadian jurisdictions, returned to their jurisdiction. So this is an attempt to bring all of the agencies together. We’ve received that support and this program will be province-wide.”
The program, to be the first of its kind in the country, is a collaboration between the r-c-m-p, police departments and the sheriff service.
