As negotiations between the Province and BC Government workers appear to be going nowhere, the BC Government and Service Employees’ Union is planning a strike for September 5th.
The job action will affect all government work sites.
This comes after job action over the summer.
Workers staged a one-day strike at liquor distribution branch centres in Vancouver, Victoria, and Kamloops in early July.
And earlier this month, there was a strike at three forests ministry offices in Surrey, Campbell River, and 100 Mile House.
The Government has offered a 3.5 percent wage increase over two years–that offer was rejected by the union.
The BCGEU is holding a news conference Wednesday morning.
