It’s been a busy weekend for BC Ferries

Spokesperson Deborah Marshall says adding extra sailings on the busiest routes have helped with the holiday volume, including a few overloads at some terminals.

Marshall says over fifty extra sailings were added throughout the long weekend, “This is typical traffic for what we are seeing for a long weekend. Generally, an Easter long weekend, we see both Horseshoe Bay and Tsawwassen Terminals busy on the Thursday afternoon as well as Friday, and then at the end of the long weekend, we do see that traffic returning to the Lower Mainland.”

Marshall says a little extra volume at Swartz Bay, Departure Bay and Langdale is expected Friday morning as the last of the holiday crowd finishes travelling, and commercial customers are back on the boats as the work week begins anew.
