A group of high school students from Metro Vancouver have a message for Premier Christy Clark: you need to visit schools to create an effective anti-bullying program. They gathered Thursday to discuss tackling bullying in their schools.
Member of the Vancouver District Student Council, Kevin Dhir, says the program doesn’t address online issues effectively and could leave the door open for abuse, “There’s anonymity in the program. We believe that could be used by trolls and people to target other people, so we’re trying to find ways to fix that without breaking anonymity.”
The students are compiling a report on bullying to send to the Premier.
They say Clark was invited, but she was unable to attend.
