Legislative session ends in Victoria

A four month session of the Legislature has come to an end in Victoria with the last-minute passage of several major bills.

“Motion carried.”

A unanimous vote for the bill that will transform the HST back to the PST next April.

Several other bills were pushed through today after the Lberal government used time allocation to limit debate.

Still, Premier Christy Clark sees the session as a win for her side.

“We’ve I think accomplished a lot in this session.”

And NDP leader Adrian Dix sees the spring session as a win.

“I think that our caucus has done an excellent job.”

The legislature may not sit again until next year–although it could be called back for a rare summer session to impose a contract on BC teachers.
