COQUITLAM, B.C. – A Metro Vancouver daycare operator is facing an additional charge of manslaughter in connection to the death of an infant in her care.
The charge against Maria McFerran will be added to other allegations including criminal negligence causing death and obstruction of justice.
Those charges were laid in early January, one year after the Jan. 17, 2011 death of one-year-old Arto Howley.
The baby was found dead at the unlicensed, family-run Rattle-N-Roll Daycare in Coquitlam.
The facility has since closed.
RCMP have never indicated how the baby died. (CKNW)
