Nap time for wayward bear!

Strange story coming to us from the downtown core.

A bear that ended up in the heart of downtown Vancouver is now taking a little nap.

The young black bear took a trip to the city today and wowed crowds on Cambie Street.

The bear stowed away in a garbage bin making the trip from North Vancouver before a conservation  officer had to tranquilize it.

A crowd gathered to snap pictures as the bear clambered around on top of a garbage truck.

One woman taking it all in called the situation “crazy”.

People in the crowd say they’re are relieved the bear has been put to sleep and can now be taken to safety.

The young black bear received a police escort as it slept in the back of a pick up truck before being released back into the wild.
