Newspaper editor apologizes to RCMP

The R.C.M.P. accused him of slander, now an Osoyoos Times editor is apologizing for an editorial published on the paper’s website.

Keith Lacey says the officer was just doing his job, and he over reacted.

He says he sends a sincere and heart felt apology.

Lacey came under fire after writing a letter that accused an R.C.M.P. corporal of abusing his position of authority when he pulled Lacey over after leaving a bar and asked him to take a breath sample.

The R.C.M.P. responded by accusing the editor of defamation and threatened to release a video of the incident.

Lacey would not comment on his apology.

He says he has to check with his boss first.
