No BC e-coli connected to X-L plant

As the beef recall grows, BC’s Chief Medical Health officer has some good news.

“We do every year get a number of e-coli cases, we haven’t had any associated or confirmed with this outbreak with the contamination at the X-L plant, to date.”

Doctor Perry Kendall is urging consumers to check the recall list on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
What about people who like their steak rare?

“Well if you really want to be on the safe side you’d be going medium well”

Kendall says steak is generally safe but there is the chance it can be contaminated if it’s tenderized.
