NPA council candidate finally files campaign financial statements

He’s still banned from running in 2014, but one-time NPA council candidate Francis Wong has finally filed his financial statements from last fall’s municipal election.

Wong had been lambasted at last week’s Vancouver council meeting for failing to get them filed by the April 18 deadline. By missing it, he is banned from running in the next election.

“Basically, after the election, I had some personal issues that I had to deal with. So I didn’t actually have the time and it was a pretty high-stress kind of situation.”

Wong raised about $ 30,000, but went $ 4,000 over. He was also $ 500, which he has since paid.
