Eight men are behind bars this morning awaiting a court appearance in Burnaby.
They were arrested during an attempted robbery at Birks Jewelers in West Vancouver’s Park Royal mall.
Police got the call just after 8:30pm, but members of the Burnaby RCMP strike force were already on scene.
They made the arrests when three of the men entered the store and one pointed a gun at an employee.
The other five accused were waiting in vehicles outside.
Police have not said why the men were already under surveillance.
