Rats are the target of a late-night walk through the downtown eastside.
Residents are upset over what they’re calling an infestation of the critters at a vacant lot near Main and Hastings.
Organizer Jean Swanson says they’re putting pressure on the site’s owner to clean up the area, “If he won’t do it, then the law gives the power to go and do the work and bill him.”
Volunteers spent the night counting the number of rats who call the site home.
