The first batch of judgments has finally come back in the class-action lawsuit for Woodlands survivors.
Lawyer Jason Murray says three of seven rulings on settlements have come back successful from court-appointed adjudicators, but he can’t provide details because of clients’ confidentiality.
He adds lawyers plan to meet in august with Chief Justice Robert Bauman of the B.C. Supreme Court to review the settlement’s progress, as his team continues to submit claims.
About 900 people who lived at the New Westminster school on or after August 1, 1974, are eligible for up to $ 150,000 in compensation.
