More than 200 people turned up at Vancouver’s English Bay Saturday morning to help with the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.
The group collected more than three large garbage bins and one recycling bin, as well as oversized pieces of metal and wood.
The most common piece of litter out there?
Cigarette butts.
“Thousands of cigarette butts were collected and this year they will be recycled for the first time.”
Tanya Todd is a spokesperson for Goldcorp, which sponsored Saturday’s event.
