Surrey is going full-steam ahead with large-scale public celebrations for this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs. Mayor Dianne Watts says the city will bring back the large-screen viewing sites that were seen last year, at Central City Plaza and other sites. As for any planning changes in connection to what happened on the streets of downtown vancouver?
“No, we have put measures in place and we continue to have the same operational protocol… so nothing has changed in that regard.”
Watts adds costs to the city are largely minimal. The Canucks’ playoff run kicks-off Wednesday night in game one versus Los Angeles.
