Peter Fassbender says he isn’t the only one who is taking a look at the idea, a lot of Mayors South of the Fraser are “..Well we had a meeting with Mayor Watts, Mayor Froese, myself, Mayor Baldwin, Mayor Banman from Abbotsford and we talked about it.”

Fassbender says any decision will have to be made after taking a long honest look at the benefits or lack thereof.

He says there are implication especially with core services from Metro Vancouver “There is a lot of implications when you think about Mero water, sewer, waste disposal the core services that we currently particpate in, in Metro but just because of that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t look at it and if there is a benefit and it is achievable, it is going to require legislative change, you know we gotta look at it and we gotta talk about it.”

The Mayor of the Township of Langley, and the Mayor of Abbotsford have also both said their communities will take a look at the idea of a new South Fraser Regional District Regional District.
