Thousands gather for 4/20

Vancouver’s annual 4/20 smoke-in has took over the Art Gallery grounds Friday.

Trying to blaze a trail through the masses of people who congregrated downtown, people offered marijuana.

The drug, in all forms, was being peddled like peanuts at a baseball game, to the crowds with already half-closed eyes.

And just as important, the loads of snacks on hand for sale as well–chocolate bars, cookies, doritos, sandwiches, and water by the caseload.

Along Howe Street, one booth was set up with baked goods like scones and cheese buns.

But it was the table next door, laden with junk food, where people were lining up.

“right now, what seems to be the most popular item is the popcorn.”

The annual event is meant as a demonstration to legalize marijuana.
