Across the country, thousands are participating in Terry Fox runs to raise money and awareness for cancer research.
In Stanley Park, participant Curtis Allen says this event is as much about providing hope as raising cash.
“It just lets all these people know that are ravaged by this terrible disease that they’re not alone and that people are thinking of them and — it’s just support. I mean, maybe one day there will be a cure and we will be rid of this terrible disease but I mean, at the very least, we’ll provide hope for these people and let them know, that we’re there for them.”
Terry Fox Foundation events across B.C. and the Yukon raised 2.9 million dollars last year.
