Try to celebrate victory or defeat in a responsible manner

You had your chance to play nice last year and you blew it.

That’s what Vancouver Police are saying as they promise to get tough with any rowdy hockey fans during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, “If you are looking to come downtown to cause trouble, we will be there waiting for you and we will not be showing any leniency.”

Constable Lindsay Houghton says anyone caught drinking in public will be immediately fined 230 dollars and more Long Range Acoustical Devices, better known as L-RAD’s, will be used to disperse crowds.

“As PA sound systems, they’re very effective when we need to get a directed message out to people.”

Houghton says city officials will have to determine if closed-circuit cameras, which were effective during the Olympics, will also be used to manage crowds.
