RCMP and Coquitlam Search and Rescue are looking for boaters who didn’t return from a Pitt Lake trip Saturday afternoon.
Coquitlam Search and Rescue Manager Al Hurley says the RCMP Air One Helicopter spotted a campfire on North Pitt River.
They’re trying to confirm it’s the two men.
“According to their friends, they have survival gear and are experienced outdoorsmen. That’s about all we know. They type of boat and that the two chaps were possibly deer hunting,” says Hurley.
Hurley says friends called RCMP worried when the two men didn’t return as planned before dark.
