The labour dispute between unionized bus drivers and BC Transit continues in Victoria, but there won’t be a work stoppage for the next two days.
Ben Williams, President of Canadian Auto Workers Local 3-33, says his union is willing to stop the busses if its employer won’t negotiate, but not yet, “Any disruption that would actually disrupt service would be at the earliest Friday. And any disruption that we would have, we would never have a situation where we would get people to and from work and school and then leave them stranded.”
Williams says BC Transit walked away from the negotiating table on Friday. He adds his union will provide the public 24 hours notice if strike action is decided upon.
