A Langley man who woke up Wednesday morning to find a mudslide had flooded his property says he feels lucky and that it could have been a lot worse.
Lucas Warkentin says he had the fire department knocking on his door on 264th Street at 6:30 in the morning. He opened the door and some mud came into his house, “Open up the door and I have a tree stump about 15 feet away from my front steps from about 30 feet down from the road.”
Warkentin says the car parked in the car port took the brunt of the mudslide.
There isn’t too much damage to the house.
He wonders whether the earthquakes over the weekend contributed to loosening the ground.
Warkinton says he’s going to get the mess cleaned up and put in a retaining wall.
