Blumhouse Productions is moving forward with a sequel to last year’s surprisingly good micro-budget horror franchise “Sinister” which eOne will finance.
The original starred Ethan Hawke as a true crime novelist who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a supernatural nightmare.
Made on a budget of just $ 3 million, the supernatural tale has raked in $ 87 million worldwide.
All the key behind-the-scenes talent is expected back, including co-writer/director Scott Derrickson and co-scribe C. Robert Cargill.
This marks the third such franchise for Blumhouse following “Paranormal Activity” and “Insidious”.
