“I, Robot” and “Dark City” helmer Alex Proyas is set to direct and executive produce the ABC sci-fi drama series “Evolve” which was penned by “Eureka” co-creator Jaime Paglia.
The series is based on Tim Lebbon’s “Toxic City” trilogy of novels and is set two years after a mysterious biological agent released over Los Angeles has rendered it so toxic that it has been sealed off from the rest of society.
A small group of ordinary citizens outside the quarantined zone embark on a mission to uncover the truth of what happened to their family inside the affected area. They discover a world of humans with extraordinary abilities and powerful government forces seeking to destroy them.
The first book in the series, “London Eye”, was just published.
