Bill Murray is in early negotiations to topline Ted Melfi’s coming-of-age dramedy “St. Vincent De Van Nuys” at 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment says Variety.
The story follows a 12-year old boy who, in the wake of his parents’ divorce, forms an unlikely friendship with the misanthropic war veteran and retiree (Murray) living next door whose life mainly consists of drinking, gambling and prostitutes.
The elder soon becomes an unlikely mentor. The script made the Black List the other year, earning as many ‘points’ in the line-up as Quentin Tarantino’s screenplay for “Inglourious Basterds”. Fred Roos will produce the film.
