Brad Pitt is not only producing but is reportedly taking on a role in “Hunger” and “Shame” director Steve McQueen’s third feature “Twelve Years A Slave” for both River Road and Pitt’s Plan B production company.
Set in the mid-19th century, the film tells the true story of New Yorker Solomon Northrup (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who was kidnapped and shipped off into forced labor. Eventually he was rescued from a Louisiana cotton plantation in 1853. McQueen and John Ridley (”Bobby,” “Three Kings”) penned the script
Screen Daily (via The Playlist) confirmed the news though it’s unknown what role Pitt will play in the project. Michael Fassbender, the lead star in McQueen’s two previous films, also has a major role. Shooting is slated to begin next year.
