Labor Day
S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Coulson himself, actor Clark Gregg, has joined Jason Reitman’s new drama “Labor Day” at Paramount Pictures.

Based on the Joyce Maynard novel, Kate Winslet and Gattlin Griffith play a mother-and-son who meet a stranger (Josh Brolin) and offer him a ride. The man turns out to be an escaped convict who ends up teaching the boy life lessons. James Van Der Beek also stars. [Source: The Hollywood Reporter]

Kid Cannabis
Kellan Lutz (“Twilight”), Nina Dobrev (“The Vampire Diaries”) and Jonathan Daniel Brown (“Project X”) are in negotiations to join John Stockwell’s “Kid Cannabis”.

Based on a 2005 Rolling Stone article, the true tale follows suburban teens from Idaho who built a multimillion-dollar marijuana empire. Shooting kicks off in July in Canada. [Source: Heat Vision]

Mother’s Day
Susan Sarandon and real-life daughter Eva Amurri Martino are set to appear in Paul Duddridge’s familial drama “Mother’s Day”.

Mother Goose
Shirley MacLaine is in negotiations to join the cast of “Mother Goose” which will shoot in Arkansas, Poland and Los Angeles.

MacLaine would play the title character, the queen of a magical kingdom in which siblings Jack and Jill try to figure out three riddles that will allow them to return home. [Source: Deadline]
