Casting News: Schreiber, Malone, Cornish

Noah
Liev Schreiber has emerged as the leading contender for the role as the antagonist in Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic “Noah”. Liam Neeson was previously linked to the part.

Julianne Moore is also said to be in contention against Jennifer Connelly to play the wife of Noah (Russell Crowe). [Source: Variety]

The Go-Getters
Jena Malone (“Donnie Darko,” “Sucker Punch”) has joined the cast of Michael C. Martin’s indie LA noir thriller “The Go Getters” for Route 17 Entertainment.

Malone plays a struggling actress who gets caught up in a heist planned by two underworld brothers. [Source: Deadline]

Robocop
Abbie Cornish has been offered the female lead in the Jose Padilha-directed remake of “Robocop” at MGM.

Cornish has been offered the role of Alex Murphy’s wife who thinks she is a widow. Shooting is slated to kick off in September. [Source: Deadline]
