Alexandre Desplat and rapper Jay-Z have both lined up new gigs as the composers on two upcoming high-profile projects.
Desplat, who worked on four of this year’s big awards contenders (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Argo,” “Moonrise Kingdom,” “Rust and Bone”) will re-team with Wes Anderson for the filmmaker’s upcoming “Grand Budapest Hotel”.
Meanwhile, it looks like Jay-Z is composing the entire original score for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming adaptation of “The Great Gatsby.”
Jay-Z has teamed with The Bullitts for the project, the latter recently tweeting “Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC ‘The Great Gatsby. It is too DOPE for words.”
