Disney Opens Gaiman’s “Graveyard Book”

Disney Pictures have won a bidding war for the film rights to Neil Gaiman’s Newberry Award-winning novel “The Graveyard Book” reports Heat Vision.

The story follows a boy named Nobody Owens who is raised by ghosts in a cemetery after his family is murdered. When he is a teen, he is pursued again by his family’s killer – a being named ‘The Man Jack’.

Gil Netter and Ben Browning are producing. Both Miramax and filmmaker Neil Jordan previously tried and failed to get an adaptation off the ground.
