The pissing contest between the two rival “Snow White” projects opening early next year hit full flow at Comic Con over the weekend.
On Friday Relativity Media released the first shot of Lily Collins as Snow White in their take on the tale being directed by Tarsem Singh. It was a colourful photo, one which boasted a lot of similarities to the classic Disney animated adaptation of the tale – certainly it seems to be more family friendly in style.
Then on the weekend, Universal held the panel for their version – “Snow White and the Huntsman”. In stark contrast, these photos show something darker and more epic medieval fantasy in tone which producer Joe Roth compared to the scope of “Lord of the Rings”.
The panel also featured a proof of concept reel showing creatures growing from trees, knights on horses and the queen shattering into pieces. Universal have also posted four pieces of art showing off the key characters – Snow White (Kristen Stewart), The Queen (Charlize Theron), The Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and The Prince (Sam Clafin).
