James Spader To Join “The Blacklist”

“Boston Legal” star James Spader is set to top line NBC’s upcoming high-concept psychological thriller series “The Blacklist”.

Spader will play Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington, who is described as a dignified, worldly and magnetic former Army intelligence offer who went AWOL.

Now the world’s most-wanted criminal, Red sees himself as a facilitator who brokers deals for criminals – his only allegiance is to the highest bidder.

The series begins when Red mysteriously turns himself in and offers to give up everyone he has ever worked with. Said offer comes with the condition that he gets to work exclusively with a certain young female FBI agent (Megan Boone) with whom he seemingly has no connection.

Ryan Eggold (“90210”) also stars as the easy-going husband of the agent who secretly has betrayed her.

Jon Bokenkamp (“Perfect Stranger”) will pen the pilot, while John Eisendrath (“Alias”) will serve as show runner.
